Al Conrad

Al Conrad has a Master of Science in Theoretical Physics from the University of Toronto and Bachelor of Science Honours Mathematics and Physics from the Université de Sherbrooke while attending Collège Militaire Royale de Saint-Jean. He is a Project Management Professional with a distinguished 33-year career in the RCAF as a pilot and aerospace engineer reaching the rank of Colonel before joining DND as a civilian Director and Director General. Upon entering civilian life Al worked for IMP Aerospace Limited, Lockheed Martin and Fujitsu Consulting. With the DND Al held positions: as a flight test engineer for the CF-5, CF-104, and CF-18; Superintendent of the Quality Engineering Test Establishment; and Director of Engineering and Maintenance for 5 fleets of aircraft. At Lockheed Martin Al lead a team responsible for developing the In-Service Support proposal for the Maritime Helicopter Project (MHP) winning a $1Billion contract award. Most recently Al was the Research and Development Advisor in Autonomous Vehicles and Cyber Security to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Carleton University.
