Rene Marchand had a 31 year career with the Sûreté du Québec before becoming a project manager with the Center for Security Science. He was a consultant for various civil security projects including threat assessment of critical infrastructure. With the Sûreté du Québec he held postings in economic crime investigation, detachment commander, deputy commander, special advisor and commanded specialized security and surveillance units including: Improvised Explosive Device detection and demolition, K-9 Operations, Diving and Air. Rene has a Masters Degree in Risks And Environment Specialty in Civil Security Risk Management from the University of Haute Alsace. He is qualified as a Marine Facility Security Officer by the Maritime institute of Quebec and as an evaluator under the Custom-Trade Partner against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
