Cohort Systems Inc. has donated an experimental robot to Longfields Davidson Heights High School in Ottawa. The robot was a prototype Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) that had been developed for investigation of software algorithms for autonomous outdoor perimeter security of physical infrastructure. The Robotics Team at the high school intends to retrofit the robot with an National Instruments the Robot Rio processing element from the 2014 First Robotics Competition. The robot is driven with 4 high power DC motors, is just over 1 m in length and 0.5 meters wide; and can carry a payload in excess of 100 kg.
